(SEOUL KR) : Fresh from their stellar K-Pop Night showcase at MIDEM 2010 in Cannes, France, Korean hip-hop trailblazers Epik High kicked off the Lunar New Year by sneaking out of their Seoul recording studios to chill and chat with CNN Talk Asia.

According to Epik High’s frontman, Tablo - “I found it very cool that CNN had a keen interest in the depth and diversity of the Korean music scene -- it’s a major honor for us to represent Korean hip-hop on such a huge worldwide stage.”

The recent recipient of the MIAK Golden Disk Award for Best Korean Hip-Hop/Rap Artist, Epik High emerged as one of Korea’s biggest breakthrough acts of 2009 as they became the first K-Pop act to sell-out a USA concert tour (魂 Map the Soul), debut an album in the top 5 of the iTunes USA Electronic chart (Remixing the Human Soul), and land two albums simultaneously in the top 100 of the iTunes USA Hip-Hop/Rap chart ([e]nergy/[e]motion).
최근 MIAK 골든디스크 시상식에서 힙합상을 수상한 에픽하이는 2009년 해외에서 주목 받었던 한국 아티스트들중 하나로써 지난해 ‘맵 더 소울’ 미국 투어 공연이 매진되는 등 현지의 이례적인 반응으로 눈길을 모은 바가 있고, 미국 아이튠스 차트에서 ‘리믹싱 더 휴먼 소울 (Remixing the Human Soul)’ 앨범이 일렉트로닉음악 분야의 5위를 차지하였고, ‘[e]nergy/[e]motion] 앨범들이 함께 힙합음악 분야의 상위 100위안에 진입하는 쾌거를 거둔 바가 있다.
Currently in the midst of mixing down their highly anticipated new album, ‘Epilogue’, Epik High took time out to share their thoughts on their struggles, successes, and aspirations with CNN Talk Asia.
