Korean Electro-House Band < Mad Soul Child > Breaks Out in the Big Apple!

(NEW YORK CITY USA) : Seoul-based creative agency, DFSB Kollective, is proud to announce that the live electro-house band, Mad Soul Child, has been invited to be the first ever electronica act to represent Korea at the prestigious CMJ Music Marathon in New York City (October 20-24, 2009).

라이브 일렉트로 하우스 밴드 매드소울차일드가 한국 일렉토로니카 아티스트로써는 최초로 미국의 세계적인 음악축제인 ‘CMJ 뮤직 마라톤(Music Marathon)에 참가하게 되었다고 크리에이티브 에이전시 DFSB Kollective가 발표했다. 미국 뉴욕에서 열리는 이 축제는 10월 20일부터 24일까지 열린다.

According to DFSB Kollective President, Bernie Cho, “With their unique DJ/VJ/vocalist lineup, Mad Soul Child delivers music you have to see and visuals you have to hear. We’re incredibly excited to introduce this eclectic live trio to overseas audiences.”

The largest and longest running music festival of its kind, the CMJ Music Marathon is considered America’s premiere platform for discovering the future superstars of electronica, hip-hop, and modern rock music. During its 29 year history, award-winning international artists such as Aphex Twin, BT, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Justice, Moby, Orbital, and Paul Oakenfold have all performed at CMJ.

‘CMJ뮤직 마라톤’은 일렉토로니카, 힙합, 모던록 등 다양한 장르의 음악을 소개하는 대규모의 음악 축제로써 미래의 스타를 배출하는 등용문이기도 하다. 지난 29년 동안 아팩스 트윈, 비티, 크리스탈 메소드, 케미컬 브라더스, 다프트 펑크, 저스티스, 모비, 올비터, 폴 오켄폴드 등 수많은 월드스타들이 이곳을 거쳐갔다.

With over 120,000 attendees, the CMJ Music Marathon is New York City’s biggest music festival and will host hundreds of live performances, lectures, and networking functions. During the five day extravaganza, Mad Soul Child is scheduled to perform with New Zealand alt-rockers, Steve Abel & The Chrysalids, and American indie sensations, The States, at the Village Underground (October 21st Wednesday @ 8pm). As the special headlining act at Swerve Media’s BaseNYC Party, Mad Soul Child will also be taking the stage at the legendary dance music venue, Hiro Ballroom (October 23rd Friday @ 11pm).

매년 12만명 이상의 아티스트와 팬들이 참여하는 ‘CMJ 뮤직 마라톤’은 뉴욕시티에서 열리는 가장 큰 규모의 음악 축제로써 다양한 종류의 공연, 강의, 그리고 네트워크… 를 진행한다. 매드소울차일드는 5일 동안 열릴 이 축제에서 21일과 23일 두번에 걸쳐 쇼케이스를 연다. 첫 쇼케이스는 뉴질랜드의 얼터너티브 록스타 Steve Abel & The Chrysalids와 미국의 인기인디밴드 The States와 함께 21일 수요일 밤 8시 Village Underground에서 열릴 예정이고, 두번째 쇼케이스는 23일 금요일 밤 11시 댄스음악 공연의 명소인 Hiro Ballroom에서 펼처질 계획이다.
